This is our very first blog post! Let’s answer some questions about our first collection.

What does the first collection mean to you?

S:

It’s exciting. It was our first time working together, so figuring out how to do that was both fun and easy. I also loved trying new processes, like having molds made.

V:

It was exciting and fun at first especially when I received the first casts back from the casting house. I was so happy with everything. However, as some might know, the price of silver has skyrocketed in the last couple of weeks, and that’s when it really hit me that I can’t mess up. Everything has to be perfect and done well, I can’t just go and recast it. But I really enjoyed creating together, the three of us, and I’m so excited for the next release.

A:

It is the beginning of our journey, and of course we all hope for a good start. It’s also something positive to focus on making is my passion. Narrative itself is very important to me when I design. Beauty consuming the physical form.

What was your favourite tool while making this collection?

S:

Micro welder - it’s very versatile. I can smelt silver with it, I can solder anything tiny, like jump rings. The micro welder makes life easier.

My round nose pliers - they were incredibly useful when attaching, holding, or opening jump rings.

A:

The standard brush in ZBrush - the most useful brush.

What was your favourite thing to make in the collection?

S:

The Last Branch brooch. It’s something I’ve always wanted to make, and small things are cute.

The Heather at Dusk necklace was probably my favourite to make. It shows delicacy and cuteness, yet it still has a really nice weight and feel to it.

The Shrike ring.
